| THE HOLLOWS CAMP |
| for Boys and Girls |
Hi! I'm Stephen Fine. I'm a Ph.D. from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. I design experiential programs for children and adolescents to benefit overall health and wellness, and promote personal and social growth within the residential outdoor setting of summer camp.
My goal is to insure that The Hollows Camp is a place of friendship and learning where fun and memorable adventures take place close to nature.
Hi! I'm Janet. Stephen and I founded The Hollows Camp in 1982. I am a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in England and I earned my A.R.C.T. from the Royal Conservatory in Toronto.
Our campers come from around the world and around the corner. Only sixty campers attend in any given session and this gives camp the feeling of a true community. Stephen and I participate fully in the everyday activities. We get to know all of the campers personally and can thereby help them to achieve their goals while better understanding their characteristics as individuals.
The Hollows Camp is a large property with lakes, forests, meadows, and diverse wildlife. It allows campers the freedom to live in a physical space no longer readily accessible to many young people growing up in urban or planned communities.
Hello, I'm Veronica Fine. I have a Bachelor degree in Law and Ethics from the University of Toronto and as Assistant Director I literally have a lifetime of experience at The Hollows.
I also share my knowledge with others and in 2009 was awarded the Ontario Camps Association’s prestigious Ron and Mickey Johnstone award for youth leadership. Currently I'm organizing the KIDS IN CAMP charity run for Fall 2010.
I love to travel internationally and have visited Switzerland, Austria, Mexico, the U.S. and Australia, and lived in Italy with one of our Italian camper families on three different occasions.
I am an avid runner and competed in both the Toronto and Sydney marathons. At camp I strive to be a positive role model by emphasizing the benefits of physical activity and healthy eating to the young people in our programs.
